Germantown Academy was well-represented on the lists, with 26 student-athletes being recognized, two of whom were named the Most Valuable Player for their respective sport. In addition, the Independence Hockey League announced their All-League teams as well, with five student-athletes making the list. 

Six GA Patriots competed in the 2024 National Prep Tournament at Lehigh University from Feb. 23-24. At the conclusion of the tournament, GA had earned its first pair of All-Americans since 2020.

Germantown Academy Director of Athletics Tim Ginter has named Kyle Donahue ’14 as the new Head Coach of Varsity Football. Donahue, who has spent the past five seasons working with the Patriots’ offense, becomes the youngest head football coach in the Inter-Ac League.

After excellent showings at the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Indoor Track Championship on Feb. 17, four student-athletes were back in competition at PTFCA Indoor Track & Field State Championships on Feb. 25. 

Just three days after defeating Germantown Friends School in the Commonwealth Cup Semifinal, 89-37, the Patriots bested Solebury School in the championship game, 92-62. 

Gabby Bowes '25 and her teammates on the Germantown Academy girls basketball team hosted a fun carnival to support Athletes Helping Athletes, a local group whose mission is to connect local athletes with special needs with mainstream student-athletes in a spirit of friendship for their mutual benefit, inspiration, and respect. 

Germantown Academy had a major showing that included 29 top-eight finishes while competing at Franklin & Marshall College and GA for the Easterns Interscholastic Swimming and Diving competition over the weekend. Those performances powered the GA girls to their third consecutive Easterns title, while the boys finished third in the team standings. Overall, Germantown Academy was the Combined Team Champion for the second time in three years.

Germantown Academy only brought eight wrestlers to the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Wrestling Tournament from Feb. 16-17, but even though they were small in numbers, the Patriots' performances were mighty. With seven top-eight finishes, the GA compiled 117.5 points, good enough for fifth place. The team also had six wrestlers finish in the top six of their weight class, automatically qualifying for National Preps.

Germantown Academy’s indoor track team braved snowy conditions as they took to Mercersburg Academy over the weekend for Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Championships. Student-athletes put up top performances, setting numerous personal bests and breaking two school records. 

Six members of Germantown Academy's winter track team took to Philip Rauch Fieldhouse on the campus of Lehigh University on Feb. 10 for the 2024 Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association Indoor Track Carnival.

Casey made one of two and it was enough to give GA a 63-62 win over the Quakers, securing the Patriots at least a share of the Inter-Ac title for the first time since 2019-20.

The Patriots have not lost a dual meet in the last three seasons

Germantown Academy's field house hosted 15 teams on Jan. 31 for the final GA Shot Put Invitational of the 2023-24 season. Over 90 throwers took part in the competition.

The regular season is winding down for winter teams, which means that games and big-time performances are getting more important. Germantown Academy had six student-athletes recognized by PhillyBurbs.com as Top Performers after their standout days.

Germantown Academy is 9-10 overall and 1-4 in league play. They return to action on Jan. 30 when they travel to Malvern Prep for a 7pm start. 

The Patriots faced three games in as many days, with the first game coming against Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and the latter two featuring Academy of the New Church. Despite the minimal downtime between contests, GA came away with positive results.

Germantown Academy continued its 2023-24 indoor season on Wednesday at the Ursinus College High School Invitational. The Patriots competed against 80 other schools at the meet.

Germantown Academy's swimming and diving teams had their final home meet of the season on Jan. 23, facing off against Inter-Ac League opponent Episcopal Academy, and did so in style. Not only did the boys and girls teams earn wins to stay undefeated on the year, but three pool records were broken in the process.

Eight members of Germantown Academy's wrestling team traveled to Lehighton High School on Jan. 20 and 21 for the 2024 Coal Cracker Invitational. As a team, the Patriots earned 108.5 points to finish 11th out of 30 teams, while five individuals finished the day as placewinners and six scored.
